Afraid of the dark

No regrets
The source of the secret
Just betraying the eye
All beware
The shadows moving closer
No one sees
The darkness that will rise

I’m all alone
Don’t be afraid of the dark
I’m on my own
Just hear my cry and save me

Born in a time
When twilight is fading
And witness mankind
Constructing their new Towers of Babel
All they talk
No one understands

I’m all alone
Don’t be afraid of the dark
I’m on my own
Just take my hand and save me

Our lives are on file
Taps are on every wire
Like lab rats we are
Scrutinised from the sky
By the great big all-seeing eye

I do not talk but they can hear
All the words that I can not speak
I do not talk but they can hear
All the words that I will not speak
Filter my brain blind my eyes
Wipe my memory full of lies

No remorse
No sense of direction
No motion will escape our eyes
Our grasp on the world
Is nearing perfection
Locked inside
This deadly grip and

I’m all alone
Don’t be afraid of the dark
I’m on my own
Just reach inside and save me

The Lost World

Once I met an old man
With a scar upon his face
Lighted by the dim light
Of a dying fireplace
While staring into the flames
He told the legendary tale
Of the lost world

Far beyond the distant mountains
And their highest tops of snow
Lies a land of milk and honey
Only brave of heart will know
And all rode out to find it
But not a single soul returned
From the lost world

Craters crown,
spiralling down the centre of the earth
Dragonflies, open skies
With a golden sun
Lead me straight to its gates
The lost world

When they rode out to strange lands
But not a single soul returned
From the lost world

Craters crown,
spiralling down the centre of the earth
Dragonflies, open skies
With a golden sun
Lead me straight to its gates
The lost world

Bubble

In a world of glass I call my home
I’m painting pictures of my own
What I believe to be the world outside
If the truth about the world is said
I prefer to close my eyes instead
So there’s no one to switch on the light

The world looks upside down from inside my bubble
The world looks upside down from inside my bubble
(Diverted and refracted rays of light)

I make my own reality
And I’m quite safe inside my sphere
Through my fish eye lens the world looks bright

The world looks upside down from inside my bubble
(distorted prisms parallax aperture single lens reflex )
The world looks upside down from inside my bubble
(luminance outer glowing diverted and refracted rays of light

Distorted prisms
Single lens reflex
Luminance outer glowing
Inverted and inflected rays of light

This Day

Walking beside you in the late setting sun
The wind plays in your hair as the waves roll into shore
And my whole world is changing
Seeing through your eyes

Please take me with you
To the place where I belong
And help me find a way to make this world my own
And this day last forever
Turn the course of time

When the sun meets the horizon
The waves will wash our footprints from the sand
All our memories will be fading
Like drops of water, carried by the wind

And through the rift in time

Leaving behind us the last summer sun
The last ships have sailed, the distant lights are on
And the cold rain of autumn will be coming soon

If tomorrow there’ll be nothing but the moon
When tomorrow always comes too soon
Time goes by

Crimson skies

Hearsay, telltales
The truth is bent and curved
A growing plague of poison snakes
Populate the earth
Watch out, lives are
Hanging on a wire
Before we even realise
The world is all on fire

Hear me Touch me
Get me There alive
Keep me Running
Hoping To survive
Don’t look don’t speak
Don’t know what to say
Hoping one day
To be on my way

After the crimson skies have fallen
Dark and upon us since the birth of time
What killer god will hear us calling
Coming down

Lies and conspiracy
Will eat us from inside
We have nothing to live for
And nowhere to hide
One day purification
Will come to change our fate
Leading to redemption
Before it’s all too late

Hear me Touch me
Get me There alive
Keep me Running
Hoping To survive
Don’t look don’t speak
Don’t know what to say
Hoping one day
To be on my way

After the crimson skies have fallen
Dark and upon us since the birth of time
What killer god will hear us calling
Coming down
After the crimson skies have fallen
Dark and upon us since the birth of time
What demon god will hear us calling
Coming down

Avenue of broken dreams

In a time of hope an freedom
We shared a great ideal
Of a world ruled by mind and soul
Of love and peace and rock n roll
The whole planet was our playground
The gods of music reigned
Led the way to new beginnings
And put them all to shame

But who will survive
When all our dreams are broken
On the avenue of broken dreams

We’re a crowd now of individuals
Lost touch with our old ideals
Connected to our social networks
We turn into machines

But who will survive
When we won’t stand together
And the songs of love are lost to fear
All the time
I keep on passing strangers
On the avenue of broken dreams

Living in confusion

Living in confusion man falls from grace
The failing survival of the human race

While the ship is sinking
No one’s ever thinking
How we’re telling right from wrong
From far we are watching
But we’re always judging
Trying to appear strong

Fighting their battle while craving true love
Searching for truth and the perfect skies above

Trouble we are facing
Isn’t it amazing
How we ever fool ourselves
Believing every liar
To be a new messiah
And every single lie he tells

Spare my life, save yourself
Find me in the crowd
You’re reaching out your arms to me
Let me cry out loud
Begging the heavens my voice will be heard
Across the gap between me and the rest of the world

Running Away

Rushing past the lights on Seventh Avenue
Strangers’ faces flashing by
City lights they make an artificial day
Glowing all around they blind my eyes

Living in a world of turbulence
Trying to find an open door
Living in a state of bewilderment
Can’t take all this no more

I run every night all the way down to Central Park
Demons of the city chasing me

Living in a world of turbulence
Trying to find an open door
Living in a state of bewilderment
Can’t take all this no more

Running, I’m running
Running, I’m running
Running, I’m running
Running away

Running, I’m running
Running, I’m running
Running, I’m running
Running away

Songs from the past

Can you tell wrong from right when the time comes
That you’ll find yourself back in the shadows
Reliving the scenes from a memory
Knowing it’s always been there
Deep inside
Laying quiet
Out of sight…
Songs from the past are
Songs better left unsung

Can you tell love from hate when it strikes you
All that you thought right finally bites you
And words fail to repair the pain
Find yourself back on your own
For a time
For a life
Going by…
Songs from the past are
Songs better left unsung

But now
I will be whole again
Piecing together my world
And the space
And the time
Of a life…
Of a love

Hypnotised

Let me welcome you all to my mesmerising show
I will need two volunteers who aren’t afraid to let themselves go
Watch my watch swing, time to dim the lights
Concentrate on just my voice and close your eyes

Now you’re standing for a closed door and you hold a key
Turn the key, unlock the door and tell me what you see
Counting back from ten I’ll lead you down a stair
When I snap my fingers you’ll be there

Twirling like a water snake or howling like a beast
I will turn you into anything that I might please
Make you speak of things that sound absurd
I will send you to the strangest worlds
